Hello IOTA chasers, This year is going to be another fantastic year for YB islands chasers.

Less than 8 weeks into the year 2014, we had already Goram OC273 activated by YB0AI/8 and YF1AR/8. Please note that N2OO is away and will not be answering QSL until March 2014.

Then we had Ternate and Tidore OC145 by several ops YB8BRI, YB4IR, and YB8HZ.

Yoppie YB8XM gave us Yamdena OC224 after years of absent from the air.

YB8RW and others went on the air from Lembeh again this year OC236.

This month we have heard YB8RW from at least three different islands, Marampit, another island which escapes me, and now Miangas OC209. This evening he had a nice signal on 15M and he told me that he will go to Karkaralong island next OC210. He told me also that he only spent one day operating from the other island that also begins with M, he took a 15 min boat ride and enjoyed grilled crabs on the beach. Since he took his rig and antenna with him, he went on the air from that island as well. So there you go Buzz, it was an unplanned operation. I missed this one too, since I thought he was still in Marampit.

Next month look for Imam from Enggano OC204 a rare one since no activation has taken place since it was first activated over a decade ago as 8A4EI.

YB5NOF is trying to get a license to operate from Jamur Island (military permit required) and let us keep our fingers crossed for YE5T and YE5S later in the year.

But the happiest news is that Kadek YB9BU is out of the hospital, home, and answered all outstanding QSLs for Gangga YB8S, Seram and Saparua YB8XM/p, so only YB8V is pending ( no QSL cards yet ). Adhi YB3MM is with him in Singaraja Bali and I will let him update you fully on his condition and QSL status.

I am just very happy that my good friend Kadek is in good ham spirit. I heard that they are preparing for something special this July...I can not wait....

A little tip for those sending QSL to YB Land, since someone asked me privately,

If you only sending card you may write  HANYA BARANG CETAKAN (ONLY PRINTED MATTER)

or TIDAK BERISI UANG ( NO MONEY ENCLOSED) and cut the bottom corner of the envelope.
