AS-033 Nicobar IslandはIOTAクレジット5.0%のレアIOTAです。2004年12月のVU4NRO以来のQRVになります。この朝のIOTA-chasers ForumにVU2CDP Deepakさんにより、[IOTA-chasers] VU4CB - new callsign assigned for Nicobar operationのタイトルで掲載がありましたので転載します。

PS:  the DQRM on FT4TA on 12m was absolutely disgusting. I am guessing when Pai and Krish ask for NA from Nicobar, it might be a repeat of what happened on VU7AG?

コールサインをVU4CBに変更するようです。AS-033はあまり珍しくないのでしょうか、それとも情報が遅延していたのでしょうか。JAからの支援はほとんど無いようでした。私も本日、はじめてウエブを確認しました。明日11月３日から13日の予定です。

また、昨日とどきました425DXnews #1226では下記の通りです。日程が動く可能性があります。

VU4    - "VU4KV plans are on track", Krish, W4VKU reported  on  25  October,

         and "all the hardware is already in  VU  waiting  to  be  shipped".

         This DXpedition will  consist  of  two  separate  operations,  both

         using the same callsign. Initially a small team will be  active  on

         3-4 bands CW and  SSB  from  Campbell  Bay,  Great  Nicobar  Island

         "anytime from 4 to 7 November  depending  on  the  arrival  of  the

         boat".  QRV  plans  for  the  larger  operation  from  Neil  Island

         (Andamans) are from 16 until 30 November. The Andaman  and  Nicobar

         Islands form one single DXCC Entity, but IOTA wise they  count  for

         two separate groups: AS-001 for the Andamans, and  AS-033  for  the

なお、Great Nicobar IslandはAndaman Islandsの最南端に位置し、昨年3月に実施されましたOC-245 YB3MM/6 YF1AR/6 Breueh Islandと170kmくらいの距離です。このGreat Nicobar Islandまでをインド、その先を「インドの先の島々、つまりインドネシア」とイギリス人が命名したと記録にありました。

Campbell Bayへは200-300名乗りのフェリーが就航していました。さらにGreat Nicobar Islandの東側の半島が付き出た地形に位置しています。JA/NA/SA/VK方面にはたいへん有利な地形と思われます。EUもロングパスが届きやすいようです。JAからはDPでも簡単に届きそうな感じですが。HW
